How to Build a
Dinghy

The m/v Waterfall is a 50' fiberglass traditional long range heavy weather trawler.
It is based on a surplus navy utility boat, MK 4.  The hull was built by Harbor Boats
in Long Beach, California in 1965, hull number C-13117.  If anyone knows any history
of this boat please send an email

The Waterfall was designed for extended trips from Washington to Southeast,
Alaska, originally as a salmon troller then converted to pleasure.  It has all the
amenities of a home; a spacious galley with a Dickison Adriatic oil cook stove, large
dinette, nice size bath with fiberglass shower stall and a vacu-flush toilet, large
capacity stacked washer/dryer and large salon.  There is room to sleep eight
comfortably.

On deck there is a hydraulic drum anchor winch which pulls a #8 Forfjord (88#)
anchor with 60 feet 1/2 inch chain and 350 feet 1/2 inch Dyneema anchor rode. For
lifting the 11 foot Zodiac with an 18 hp Tohatsu there is an electic/hydraulic boom.

Propulsion is a 671 GMC with a Allison 2.5 x 1 gear turning a 4 blade propeller.  An
8kw Northern Lights generator provides electric power for the hot water heater
(also heated by engine water), the clothes dryer and to charge up the house batteries.
